The Prestigious University of Lagos ; Unilag for short continues to create standards and legacies. One of which is the Africa Sings concert – A yearly choral concert organized and performed by the students of the creative arts department under the direction of Dr. Albert Oikelome an associate professor in the department.

Having successfully held 6 editions, with themes celebrating choral music from Across Africa and its diaspora, the 7th edition takes a step further in its theme to celebrate music from the classics to the street showcasing rare choral renditions of Nigerian popular music by celebrated acts such as Tekno, Yemi Alade, Wizkid, Adekunle Gold, Runtown, Patoranking, Chidinma, Lagbaja,and Davido.

The Africa Sings 7 concert is scheduled to hold on Tuesday 1st August by 4pm at the Main Auditorium as a major part of a collective assessment of students in the faculty of arts; according them the opportunity to develop their vocal and instrumental talent, bringing it to bare on the largest stage of the University.
