Immediately;

1) Remove the power cable
2) Flip the laptop upside down so the liquid doesn't go further inside.
3) While upside down, remove the battery. Notice i didn't say "shutdown the computer".There's no time for that!
4) Allow to dry
5) Don't power on until some knowledgeable says so.He might need to open it up to ensure it's well dried, etc

These 5 steps can save you from buying a new laptop! Be fast about it! .

Pls note: Sticky liquids are more difficult to deal with. Simply drying it won't help. Best bet is to take it to an engineer to properly clean your device.
