I dont know much about your graduate background but your automobile tech background is very good. i.e if you are really skilled in what you do. I recently got a quote from an autoshop (independent) for a timing belt, serpentine belt and oil change. I got an estimate of almost $900.
The labour for the job is just 2.9hrs. That is like $100 per hr. This is around the same hourly rate most family physicians charge the government.
