The governor of Borno state Kashim Shettima broke the news on facebook:

"This morning, I launched the Central Bank of Nigeria's Anchor Borrowers Programm, a loan scheme to empower 500 farmers of the agricultural community of Zabarmari in Jere Local Government.

The scheme is targeting 2000 farmers in Borno state but on our part, we are partnering with the CBN and the Bank of Agriculture to secure more interest free loans to our distressed farmers in the state."

Some of the successess of this programme is the bumper rice harvests recorded in Kebbi, Kano & Jigawa, with over 88,000 millionaire rice farmers in Kebbi state alone.

While the northern people are making use of all government initiatives, the easterners are going on social medias crying that everyone hates them but not holding their leaders accountable.

It's designed to cover both northern and southern states, Imo, Anambra, Ogun, Delta & other southern states have farmers participating.
