Iphone 8 Facing Production Issues






The new iPhone models are facing a potential production delay, a report by the Economic Daily News has revealed. According to the report, production of the so-called “iPhone 8” could be delayed. The “S” cycle upgrades for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus could also be facing production delays.

Allegedly, the main manufacturing plants for Apple’s iPhone have yet to reach the mass production stage. Should that be the case, Apple’s OLED iPhone will ship only in small volumes this year.

According to the report, Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron, the two main ODMs for Apple’s iPhone have yet to reach mass production rates. The reason behind that could be the fact that Apple is still facing fingerprint sensor issues with the iPhone 8.

Another reason behind the alleged production delay for iPhone 8 could be the challenge of implementing the upcoming phone’s customized OLED panel. Continued reports of fingerprint sensor issues could mean that Apple may have to opt for a facial-recognition-only solution.






The Facial Recognition Route

Without a sensor, key features like Apple Pay, and facial recognition is much more cumbersome. Microsoft is working on similar tech under OLED screens, as well as Qualcomm and Vivo.

However, that technology won’t hit the shelves until next year, so Apple would be early if it can resolve those issues in time. Whatever the case, it’s going to be a close call for the iPhone retailer.

Additionally, Apple is allegedly facing a problem with iPhone 8’s wireless charger. According to reports, Apple may delay the wireless charger for the new iPhone and therefore sell it separately.
