Thanks, his name is Ralph. He is making my pocket cry, when he arrived I gave him some Jo-Jo premium canned food that the breeder said he was eating, he finished that one. We now got the Jo-Jo premium bag from my friend , I serve himhe sniffed it and use his paw to scatter everything, I vex oh! People told me to leave him somewhere with the food and water I did that although his stomach was flat he didn't even touch the food. I left it overnight for where he no chop. 24 hours later he ate small and scattered the food, I felt bad and gave him some rice he did not eat, I had to buy him Jo-Jo premium can. He doesn't if garri,rice,indomie he only agrees to eat pedigree canned food ,Jo-Jo canned good and meat and very small beans. The bag of Jo-Jo still dry my house. Please help me, how Di i make him eat.

Don't let your dog be too aggressive. Socialise him very well and allow him to have a balanced temperament. A dog should know when to play and when to bark. Most times barking at people comes with maturity. NEVER TRAIN THEM TO BE OVERTLY AGGRESSIVE. If you do, then you have a problem on your hands.

He is over friendly, once people pet his head he will turn his belly for a belly rub

Suggestions how can I make him eat

Since this is a diary, I'll tell you about him
I had wanted a dog for a longggg time, so when my friend told me his dog would soon litter i booked a puppy. My friend lived far from me. The day he was to come, I cleaned everywhere, disinfected it and I bought toys and his Jo-Jo (the one he didn't eat) I got so impatient then the guy called and said he was outside my street gate I rushed to get my �. He was so small, I took him inside and fed him some sausages then he slept off. Few hours later he got up and started crying it was as if he just realized he wasn't going back home.
In the night I took him to where he was to sleep(carton.temporarily) he cried,whined scratched the carton I had to ignore him,longest night of my life. N.Bthebig dog is his mom.

The next morning was even worse,comment for more jist

I've told you the perfect solution to make him eat. It's not advised to train a dog with 'specific' food. Na naija we dey (If u understand me)

If you want the puppy to become a good eater of anything you give it, then starve it well for 4 days straight. . It will beg you for food because it will know that food is actually a privilege given out of love not like it belongs to him and he can make waste of it. I did this to one of my dogs and it worked perfectly. I've wasted close to 50k on feeds which this dog of mine wasted because it was selecting. .When I changed my mind.. Today, if I give this dog Beans, he go chop dem no dey tell am to eat before he put head for plate.

My point is, training. Starving him is not wicked, it's training.

Another method is to get another dog or cat.. I used the method for another dog of mine.. When you bring another dog, or cat, and put food in one plate, the dog would not want the other pet to have the food, so he will eat very fast and may even growl or snap. But in the long run, he will get used to eating and eating fast. This method worked for me on one of my dogs.

Thanks Greene66, I do that. I even gave him rice and sardine(cooked for the whole house) he ate it.

Hello. You've got a nice pup.

IMO, this is what you can try.
When changing or switching dog food, make it a gradual process.

Mix the kibbles with the JoJo canned food.
Gradually reduce the canned food as time goes on.

If you're feeding rice, mix the rice with fish.(shawa). He would love it.

Hi guys. My daughter giving Ralph his first bath he jumped inside muddy water when he was chasing chicken it was war. We were giving him a bath outside at first about to scrub him puim he disappeared and ran out the gate,people were screaming and laughing at a wet dog we finally caught him and leashed him to one handle near and bathtub and bathed him there with diluted human shampoo and conditioner we blowdryed him and rub him tick powder and put ori(sheabutter) on his paws to avoid dryness. Now he smells fresh and ready to play with

Beautiful dog, I once owned an American Eskimo unfortunately mine turned out to be so fussy, if its not can food he'll just ignore and be looking at you like a monitoring spirit. they are very lovely dogs, full of energy and the ultimate alarm clock....btw, was that his first bath at your house?.

Yes, it seems American eskimos and Samoyed don't like cheap food but prefer canned food.but i love him anyway,we've thought him his name, how to sit, stay(5 seconds), come and lie down working on other commands. I'm using oyinbo training method hope it's okay to do so

Please help, my puppy started vomiting yesterday night and stoped eating so I called the vet and booked an appointment for Monday . He has been following vaccinated, boosters included, I just wanted to ask people if there is anything I can do to help him(he is 5months) he is also acting weak.

Signs of Parvo virus. You better take this treatment by the horn by yourself. Most Naija vets are quack. Start the treatment yourself. If care is not taken he is gonna die . Parco virus has got no chill. What's the condition of his feaces. Extremely watery or solid. Read more about Parco virus. If it is. Stop all feeding for now and administer glucose cos he would be so dehydrated

feed her with a needles syringe , raise her head press in the lyquid close her mouth (while head still high) blow breeze to her nose she will be forced to swallow and if you feed she needs to be fed make pap (yellow pap) and use same method of syringe to feed

How is your dogs health now pls?

He's doing very well, the doctor said he just had a serious stomach upset he ate the aloevera shrubs in our compound, we've gotten rid of them now. The vet also gave him boosters,deworming and multivitamins . He is now back to his crazy self so glad

I give him sardines and mackarel (geisha) once or twice a week . I use Emerald pet soap and antistatic dog fur brush(got them online)
I brush him at least twice a week so he will loose his dead hair.
