Alhaji Aliko Dangote Is Not The Highest Paid Man In Nigeria. by consultmartins(m): 3:23am On Feb 05, 2010
Nigeria is a country blessed tremendously by God with human, mineral and natural resources. We are so blessed that we have produced great men and women including a miss world, in the person of Agbani Darego. We have once had a Nigerian emerge the richest black man on earth. But i think it is laughable that the once world richest black man is not the highest paid man in Nigeria.

Aliko Dangote is a man highly respected in the corridors of power with respect to business and politics. He has carved a niche for himself by providing the basic needs of over 150 million Nigerians. He was even once pronounced the world's richest black man by Forbes Magazine. But why is he not the highest salary earner in Nigeria?

When compared salary to salary, i know some corporate executives that earn twice what Dangote earns. In fact, you will be surprised that the president, ministers, governors and DGs of most government agencies earn more salary in a month than Dangote. But how did Dangote emerged the richest black man on earth?

Though not the highest paid man in Nigeria, he was able to become the richest black man in the world because he took a different path, a path less travelled by many. While most top corporate executives work for steady paychecks, salaries, bonus and incentives, Dangote works hard to make Nigeria a better place.

While most public servants are busy strategizing ways to loot and siphon public funds, Dangote is busy strategizing how to contribute his quota to the actualization of Nigeria's vision 2020 goal. He emerged the richest black man on earth is because he has a strong mission. A mission to provide the basic needs of over 150 million Nigerians.

While many Nigerians are struggling for increase in salary, promotion, bonus, incentives, pension and gratuity, Dangote is striving to build an asset. An asset that will continue to provide the basic needs of Nigerians. An asset that will continue to serve Nigeria and Nigerians even after his death. An asset worth billions of dollars.

Though not the highest paid man in Nigeria, Dangote is definitely a role model and a challenge to young entrepreneurs like me. If only our youths can dream and work towards creating value. If only they can dare to be like Dangote, Nigeria will be a better place.
