An end of school year party is going on right now and the children school band is playing "father, Father by Pyhno and Olamide" every word of it.

Here is what is puzzling. School fees per term over N200, 000 per term, excluding school bus, music rehearsals, swimming lessons etc.

This is a school for well to do parents nice classrooms montessori computer and lab, nice school environment, play ground that is equipped and it is a primary school.


Most of the parents are Christians and would not allow playlist of these musicians in their home considering the vulgar languages and obscenity of their movie videos


My question is it right for a children school band with piano, trumpet sax drums etc to play these kind of songs especially when there are classical music composers these children could rehearse and use to build their talent.

Or is the music teacher deficient or the mentality of these teachers limited to Nigerian hip hop artistes as their own definition of music.
