THE ENTRANCE OF THE WORD
Psalm 119:130, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding to the simple”. Wow. What wonderful words to be spoken of and to us. In the previous episodes, we have emphasized on the word being the light of men. To guide them in all the things and issues of life. The word is light, and that light is in Christ: John 8;12, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” When you have this light, you don’t walk in darkness.
The darkness being talked about here could be in any area of your life; health, business, profession, family, marriage, career, academics etc. Darkness means a place of confusion. Darkness is a place of uncertainty in everything that concerns you in life. Darkness is a place of failure, disappointments, un-fulfillment, ignorance and rebellion to the word and life that God purposed for you to live. The life of walking in darkness has only one established end; destruction and condemnation.
But, when you walk in the light, there is no more darkness because you have the light of life. God’s word is light itself. God’s word and sayings must enter into you, into your heart, into your spirit, for you to receive the light. Just as food is important to the body, for you to be able to carry out activities, and to function properly in your daily works etc, so it God’s word important to your spirit. The word of God is food for the spirit. Without God’s word in the human spirit, the human spirit is isolated from God’s presence, from whence cometh its life. Thus, the spirit without the word of God, is dead unto God. Until His words enters into such a person, and gives life to the spirit, then it becomes alive unto God. Halleluiah!
God’s word brings to you understanding. It gives wisdom to them who find it. This wisdom brings out the excellence in you, the excellence in your spirit. It makes you to act and speak rightly in all situations. It gives you excellent results in the things that you do. The word of God at work in ma, is divine wisdom in the life of man. (Proverbs 2:6-12, 4:5-9, 3:13-18, 24:3-4, 13-14)
God’s word is the discerning factor between His children and the rest of the world. The child of God is led by the word, and he dwells in the word which light. The passage; “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh” (Proverbs 4:19-22). The underlined parts states out the difference between the child of God who walks in His word (light), and the man who rejects God’s light, to walk in darkness. We can see the varied ends to each.
In order for you to life the fulfilled life and destiny which God has in store for you; go to His word. His words contain the blueprint for your life’s direction. It contains all that you need to live victoriously and gloriously. Discipline yourself in the word of God, then you will surely see a transformation in your life.
