The rot in the Nigerian psyche is now so entrenched that even exam malpractice is being perpetrated at the primary school level.
Just last Saturday in Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki made the rounds of some School Leaving Certificate Examination centres in Benin.
He was reportedly angered to discover some primary school teachers trying to gain access into the centres in order to manipulate the examination and immediately ordered their arrest.
Apparently, the culprits were private school teachers who had allegedly received financial inducement from some parents to help influence their children’s performance at the exams.
