Tragedy struck has struck in Lagos state after a four-storey building collapsed in Lagos Island injuring atleast five persons and scores of residents still trapped under the rubble.

It was gathered that the building sited at 3 Massey street Lagos Island was owned by Kafo Family and managed by Isola Costa before it caved in on Tuesday.

A source told our correspondent that the structure was initially three-storey building before another one storey was added to increase the level of the structure.

Confirming the tragedy, Director of Lagos state fire service, Rasak Fadipe, said that five persons have been rescued, noting that efforts were still ongoing to rescue others feared trapped under the rubble.
