The Nigerian Army said on Tuesday that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, had approved special promotion to 6,199 soldiers serving in the anti-insurgency war in the North-East. The breakdown shows that 3,502 privates became Lance Corporals while 1,290 Lance Corporals became Corporals. Also, 707 Corporals became Sergeants, while 371 Sergeants became Staff Sergeants.
