Keep in mind that the competition is quite high this year. In order to be admitted on merit, you should have a good score. Different universities have different JAMB cut off marks. For the University of Ilorin, you will need at least 180 to be accepted. 220 and above is considered a good score. However, some courses will put the score of 220 as their cut off mark. So you have a better chance if you get a high JAMB score!

The O level result

The O level result carries 50 marks. You need to remember that each grade has different marks. For example:

A may carry 8 marks;
B may carry 5 or 4 marks;
C may carry 2 marks.
As you can see, having too many C''s will be a significant disadvantage. On the other hand, with enough A's you will get higher marks and have more chances to be accepted.

So the higher the better. You need to be way above the cut off mark to be on the safe side.

The cut off marks for the courses for 2017/2018 have not been released yet, but we can make assumptions based on the previous year. Usually, they don’t change much, so it will be useful to know in order to predict your results and know if you are safe.
