The Lagos state government yeterday dismantled Obalende chanties after a 48 hours Removal order last week Tuesday to vacate.

It was learnt that the state government had first gave them 6 month noticed to leave before the 48 hours given to them

Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force Superintendent of Police, Mr Olayinka Egbeyemi said, " the illegal structures and shanties including containerised shops were directly constructed right on water channels thereby, blocking free flow of water through drainage and canals around Obalende with resultant floods whenever it rains.
