The Governor of Imo, Rochas Okorocha has approved the appointment of the Acting Vice Chancellor of Imo State University - Prof Adaobi Obasi as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Imo State University (IMSU).


The Imo State University was agog with the recent appointment of Prof. Adaobi Obasi as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the University. Professor Obasi , a seasoned educationist, has put in record number of years as an educator and administrator. She rose through the ranks in teaching and research in the university system as Head of Department, Dean and Ag Vice Chancellor before her appointment and confirmation as Substantive Vice Chancellor of the Imo State University.


Professor Obasi has also given her time and services in several portfolios in the state civil service as Commissioner for Local Government Affairs and in the Education ministry portfolio. She is poised to take this citadel of learning to a new level through her efforts in promoting a harmonious relationship between staff of the university and the State government, thus ensuring a stable, productive and predictable academic calendar that is beneficial to all stake holders. IMSU is also proud that one of her highly reputable Professors, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba was recently made the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, and two other eminent professors, Prof. Nath Ohazurike and Prof. A.C. Awujo were recently appointed as Pro Chancellors to Adeyemi Federal College of Education, Ondo, and the University of Uyo respectively.
