This is just like the first apostles' days when people thought that the world was ending in their time. They sold all they had and gave. One husband and wife even died trying to help just because they lied about keeping small for themselves. Wisdom is profitable to direct. If you were not born again before you married your wife or you married your husband through fornication that amounted to a child, when you repented, why not unmarry or kill that 'fruit of fornication' you too had to show restitution? Poverty has a way of making a man wish to die and go to heaven today today. The income they earned was justly theirs. They sowed, they reaped.
They put in time, toil and hope, and were just rewarded.

It's like having an illegitimate child. The child is yours, but not exactly the mother.
You make restitution regarding the mother, not the child per se.

Moreover, they were paid based on their performance and not exactly based on their WAEC certificate compositions.

Had they been paid just based only on the look of their certificates, then they'll have no choice but to restore, or at least acknowledge their ill gotten wealth.

Also to be restituted are all distorted facts in your CV; false ages, marital status and places of origins.
No one working with these has a hope of seeing Christ.
Not to talk of fraud, murder, and the other terrible sins.

More so, a church that upholds not restitution isn't worth attending.

They must have used the same certificate to further their studies and secure jobs. They must not forget to return their NCE/OBD/HND/B.Sc. certificates also as well as salaries collected over the years.
