Some communities in Nigeria have made several efforts to get functional boreholes but these efforts failed. Bounce brings you a first-hand account.

In Ubulu Okiti, a community in Delta State, centuries ago, a story is told of how a deity, Ezemu, who is considered the founder of the place, chased a river away. This has caused severe suffering and hardship for residents in the area.

Several Attempts have been made to get water and most breakthroughs have lasted for just a few days.

Williams Nwanade was the first person to have made a major breakthrough after he dug a well of over 250 feet to get water, but that water later dried up.


Bounce visited a community in Aniocha South Local Government Area to assess the claim that a deity actually caused the community's woes.

Ubulu Okiti, Home of Palm Wine, they call it, but while the wine runs on palm trees, getting water from the community’s soil is considered more difficult than climbing a palm tree with your bare hands.

It is situated along the Agbor - Asaba Expressway after Issele Uku.
