Nigerian identified as “Anthony I” who stabbed girlfriend to death is on trial in Muenster.

Soopika Paramanathan, a 22-year-old German student known locally as the “Angel of Ahaus” for her volunteer work with refugees according to report was stabbed to death by the boyfriend earlier this year.

The 28-year-old Anthony had kept mute in the court as reported by Bild, the German tabloid.



Anthony is said to have attacked Paramanathan on Feb. 11 after she ended their relationship.

“prosecutors said, he allegedly stabbed her repeatedly with a long-bladed knife in her head, neck and breasts. It was gathered that Anthony whose full name is yet to be ascertained stabbed the lady 22 times.

However, the police has said that he escaped from the crime scene and was caught later in Basel, Switzerland two days after.

The diseased father, Sivasamboo, said his daughter had “felt threatened by him” in the days leading up to the attack and was afraid, according to German tabloid Bild.
