When you peak early in your career. U retire early. Rooney is mate with Cristiano, and at 31 retiring from international football sounds weird.
Since Ferguson started playing him in midfield, he lost his scoring prowress. But he could be back as the tiger we use to know. You can't rule him coming back for world Cup, especially if he hits top form this season. Imagine if Rooney become England top goal scorer in the league this season.
