The state's civil service is now in a very sorry state that in the near future there might not be any civil service again in the state. Nothing is moving, all the responsibility had been given to either consultants or friends from other States. To make the matter worse, it is like if can beat them join them even amongst civil servants themselves. The few that are able to be given posts of Perm Sec are keeping quiet and flowing with the tide. Of course when they were given posts on the platters of gold, chosen from the back and placed above their superiors, no wonder a Perm Sec can spend up to 10 years in the position. Where on earth do that happen if not in a peculiar state? It shows Kwara's penchant for mediocrity. If the government can turn things around for good , correct all the anomalies in the service. Tenured Perm secretaries' to a 5 years duration, give only one car out for the tenure so it could go round for the people coming behind. Then pple will calm down, it will no more be a do or die affair, pple will wait for their turn, they will not be running to overtake , overthrow and overturn their superior. The service will again be enviable and a happy place to be. Salary administration is another problem, the disparity between Permsec and Director should be minimised. A Perm sec that came from the behind is earning over500k while his superior who is unlucky not to be appointed is earning 150 k on grade level 17. What an injustice of the highest level. If politics is a must in the appointment of Perm sec at least shut up those that have been cheated by giving them good salaries by bridging the gap. In the same service, some will be living miserably while some will be living large. IT IS NOT FAIR. Politics should be far and not brought into the service according to the civil service rules, and if it must, then decorum must be applied. ONE DAY, FIRE WILL BURN, PEOPLE WILL PROTEST AND THE STATE WILL BE GROUNDED BY THESE ELITIST WHO HAVE BEEN TURNED INTO SECOND CLASS CITIZENS.
