Pensioners, under the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) has accused the minister of labour, Dr Chris Ngige of nepotism and incompetence. Specifically, the NUP declared that Ngige was using his position to circumvent the trade union and pension laws to favour his kinsmen.

He was also accused of losing focus on his primary duty as Minister of Labour.
The Pensioners called the attention of President Buhari to call Sen Ngige to order and he should stop interfering in Anambra politics.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had on Monday declared an indefinite strike over Federal Government failure to keep to the 2009 agreement. The association also called for the removal of the Minister. He was accused of neglecting his duty, instead of thinking of ways to negotiate with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and do everything possible to make sure the union is back to work, he is busy with Anambra politics and god-fatherism.
