oron a major ancient port city in Nigeria has been abandoned for a very long time by both the federal and state govt. oron the home of the Nigerian pioneer maritime Academy, has been ravaged by erosion and poor roads and infranstructures for so many years, despite being a very important colonial port for so many years.

The Governor of Akwa ibom has vowed to change the fortune of the city by giving it the attention the great Ancient port city deserves.
Posted is a major underdround erosion and storm water drain that the govt recently completed to save the residents of oron from losing their homes to the menace of flooding and erosion.
this project channels flood and storm water into the oron river delta. the multi million project has brought smiles to the people of the city.
the governor also opened for Use, 5 newly paved Roads in Oron namely.
1.Mainland Ave.
2.Post office st
3 Bassey Lane.
4.Effiat St.
5.Uya Oron road.

a single apartment building can house everyone in the town on just 30 acres. .

Still a very rustic village setting. There's urgent need for upgrade.
