Costa to join Atletico before joining Premier League side on loan

According to Spanish journalist, Sergio Ortiz, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal for Diego Costa to move back to Spain. He reports that the fee for the striker is going to be €45 million plus €20 million as add-ons.

However, as Atletico Madrid are having a transfer ban right now, the player would not be playing for them. He will instead join Everton on loan.

Ronaldo Koeman has already spoken about signing Diego Costa before. He was quoted in the Guardian saying that he would ‘love’ to have the striker move to Goodison and would welcome him with open arms.

The same Guardian report saw Koeman confirming that he wanted to sign a striker this summer. Toffees signed Sandro Ramirez and Waye Rooney this summer but still, the manager is keen on signing another one this summer.

Loaning out Diego Costa to Everton would be a good thing for Chelsea and the player. The striker will get to play regularly and for Chelsea, should Costa notch in a few goals and win games for Everton against the title contenders, it would be an outside help.
