Social media went up in a frenzy when the former Queen of Ile-Ife, Olori Wuraola, finally confirmed that her marriage to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi had ended.

The Ooni got married to Ms. Olori at an elaborate society traditional marriage held in Benin, the Edo State capital, on March 16, 2016.

Over some time, there had been previous reports that the marriage to the Ooni was in crisis, and her revelation finally confirmed those reports.

Ms. Olori disclosed an official statement on her marital status via Instagram on her official page @hhzynab on Wednesday.

Following the declaration by Olori Wuraola Ogunwusi that her marriage has ended, the Ooni of Ife Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi has expressed that he would address the public when he is ready.

Media Directorate in Ooni's palace, Moses Olafare, told NAIJ that the Ooni would address the matter at the appropriate time.

He said: "In this era of social media, where people have free access to the internet and rely on that to pass across information as constitutionally permitted by laws of the land, people can say anything.”

“Inspite of all being said left right and center on the issue, decorum still requires that we in the House of Oduduwa continue to maintain silence, at least for now. This is because marriage is strictly a private matter that should not be subjected to undue public uproar."

Olafare further said that the Ooni’s marriage crash would be addressed when it is necessary.

"Whenever it is necessary for us to talk, we will surely talk on the issue.”
