What symptom are you experiencing from the car. Replaced if you are sure that's the problem

Thanks @mayor2013.
When the engine is cold, the car won't move when I engage the gear in D for about 3 mins but it moves ok in R.

What's the condition of your transmission fluid. Black?

The fluid is not black, reddish

Perhaps it became reddish when this problem started. I might be wrong though

I don't know how you arrived at the conclusion on faulty TC but as others have mentioned, a number of other things can cause your car's symptoms.

Does the level of ATF on the dipstick get very high when cold?
Does revving the engine a little before putting gear selector in drive reduce the engagement time of 3 minutes?

Please answer these questions and schedule a professional transmission diagnostic scan.

Thanks. Revving the engine reduces the engagement time. I thought it was the TC from the internet experience of other folks

The TC does not know if you are in forward or reverse gear so, if there is converter drain back, it should show in both forward and reverse.

To check for this, use a capable scanner and look at the input shaft speed when you start the car cold. It should be about >80% of engine rpm (depending on the TC stall speed rating). If it is off mark, then a converter charge problem exits.
