Good day house, please I have a challenge with the website am building, it keep showing site under construction when searched in a browser, I deleted the index.html folder from the cpanel but, it's still not OK, please anybody knows what I can do it rectify this problem?

In your public_html, there must be an index file, either index.html or index.php. If none exists, the server will load the default chi script which can either display website under construction or website not available or any other similar phrase. It seems your Web application doesn't have an index file in the root directory.

Delete the cgi folder

Rename whichever file is supposed to be your homepage. Rename it to index.html or index.php

You need to login to your cpanel.

Then go to your file manager

Then open public_html and open it

Locate index.html and delete it...

That is what is blocking the WordPress index.php from showing.
