Rory Nigel King has been arraigned before a Brisbane District Court for stalking, threat to safety and assault of his girlfriend.

The court heard how the woman implored him to leave her but he stalked her and stole her underwear. When she wouldn’t let him use her phone, he grabbed her hair and kidnapped her. King ripped her clothes off, told her she was a slut, said he would slit her dog’s throat.

The court heard the details of King’s offenses, carried out at places including Gympie and Fortitude Valley. Crown prosecutor Joshua Hanna said the woman was still terrified of King, who is 29.

But King will serve no more time behind bars, leaving the dock on Friday with a suspended sentence. King had already spent 632 days in custody and had pleaded guilty to charges including torture, assault, and unlawful stalking.

The woman was a teenager when the verbally and physically abusive relationship with King started. After the phone dispute, King grabbed the woman “and started throwing her around,” Mr Hanna said. Then he punched her in the ribs.

Mr Hanna said, “While he was punching her he told her to have sex with him and called her a slut. He stripped her naked and ripped her pants and underwear off.”
