A job in Shell, NLNG, Chervon, Total etc is the dream entry level job for almost all fresh graduates and sought after career move for most experienced people. Young people seeking admission into universities base their course choice on course suited for this industry.
Growth in Oil and Gas industry is going down. The days of headline news such as Shell investing billions of dollars in FSPO in the Niger Delta is almost gone.
Rather, what we are hearing is Tech Giants fighting for a space in the Nigerian market. Facebook CEO and Google CEO personally visited Nigeria within an interval of 18 months apart. And each promising to investing millions of dollar in developing manpower in IT sector of our economy
In the 60s it was fashionable to be a lawyer, accountant or doctor, in the 80s everybody wanted to be an engineer. But in this millennium the future belongs to those that invest in knowledge economy and not commodity economy.
Get prepared for the future; acquire the skill set needed for knowledge based economy.

Self learning is good especially with some of the online teach yourself blogs, but the truth is some training centers will teach you more with practicals and onsite experience. So it's up to you to choose.

Meanwhile: Enjoy 50% discount on any IT course(s) of your choice this September

yeah some training centers but i think it has more to do with who the instructor is personally in the center. for example in a center you might be doing a course and have a very sound practical instructor and yet in the same training center you will have other instructors who are just theory based.
apart from udemy i am also learning with a certain institute and my instructor is practical practical practical.
he even ditched the institutes curriculum to teach us how its done in the real world and it has been a challenging and engaging but very rewarding experience.
