Bunion is a thickened, fluid-filled bursa, overlying the big toe joint. The underlying cause is, hallux valgus, in which the joint at the base of the big toe projects outwards while the tip turns inwards. It can be very painful. How to treat? Without treatment, it will get worse. To remedy bunion, wear properly fitted shoes and a special toe pad to straighten the big toe and keep it in position.
