Offshore Maintenance Technician – Mechanical

Purpose
To safely and efficiently maintain all SPDC offshore facilities’ operational plant and equipment on the FPSO’s: to satisfy the technical integrity targets and ensure that all mechanical equipment is operated within design limits.
To participate in the SPDC Competence Assurance Scheme and achieve pre-determined mechanical competence levels.
Networks with
Senior Mechanical Technician, Offshore Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Planners, Operations Team, Logistics and Warehouse, Capability Management Team, OEM Vendor Representatives.

Accountabilities
• Comply with safe work practices and procedures, and participate to ensure a safe working environment
• Carry out emergency role (if required) as defined in the Emergency
Response Plan
• Maintain work history and input to the maintenance management system
• Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with the weekly, 14-day and 28-day plans
• Provide updated and technical information for all maintained plant and equipment
• Provide dedicated support to the Operations Department during startup and shutdown of the plant
• Raise corrective maintenance work orders and provide Maintenance Planners with accurate and realistic estimates of all tasks
• Ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations at all times

Special Challenges
• To contribute to the maintenance of one of the largest FPSO’s in the world in line with tight budgetary control and minimum manning principles.
• The FPSO’s and their associated facilities represent a step change in technical complexity as well as introducing a number of new technical processes not currently deployed in the Company
• The FPSOs have been designed with high intrinsic reliability machinery working relatively straightforward production processes. With little spare equipment, the challenge will be to raise the facility uptime to its design limits and keep it there
• Proving competency using the VQ Competence Framework will be as crucial as understanding the impact that maintenance has on personnel, as defined in the Safety Case


Competency Requirement
Technical Competencies
Demonstrate knowledge of A71-Operate wells and facilities and A72-Maintain wells and facilities
Must possess ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and determine maintenance direction for the team
Must possess knowledge of Asset integrity/verification as well as integrated planning
Must be skilled at reading and interpreting technical drawing
Must demonstrate knowledge of safety Practices common to the petro-chemical
industry

HSE Competencies
Must demonstrate knowledge of Offshore safety procedures, permit to work systems,
Emergency Response as well as Health, Safety, and Environmental hazards.

Experience and Qualification Required

1.ONC/OND level or equivalent qualifications in mechanical or multi-disciplinary engineering and trade certification are essential.
2.Must be capable of carrying out remedial and routine maintenance associated with petroleum processing plant and equipment.
3.The ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures, report the effects of failures, and assist to provide solutions to remedy the problems.
4.Knowledge of oil separation and gas compression processes.
