Evans Ohamadike was a successful kidnapper who was a role model to youths of his community. He built a house for his mother from the proceeds of crime.

Does that make kidnapping a right to do?

Kidnapping is wrong and is a crime.

However, a particular tribe in Nigeria has an unusual affinity for crime and criminals. They celebrate criminals and give them chieftaincy titles.

Even here on Nairaland, they celebrate notorious criminals and thieves. They even adopt thieves from other regions and take them as theirs.

You'll see the elders at a family meeting ask a father to give up his seat for his son simply because the young man has money to buy them beer and snuff.

I don't understand all these. Sometimes, someone from a particular tribe commits a crime or an offence, in as much as I don't at all support tribe shaming because of a few set of people but that doesn't change the fact that it should be condemned strongly.
What's the point of comparing crimes? Trying to filter which one is more tolerated than another. You see comments like "at least he is not mining skulls like afonja." Or "at least he doesn't push drug like the igbos." That's 50 shades of wrong. If something isn't right be true to yourself and speak against it rather than mince words because that person is from your tribe.

Thank you

He's awaiting sentencing in a Lagos Court for his crimes.

If it were in Potopoto Republic, he would have been given a chieftaincy title like Osisikanwu the Armed robber.

We from the poto side sincerely hope you can mine Evan's skull and testícles for your ritual delight.

Kidnapping and robbery seems to be the latest job for Nigerian youths, with all this harvest just in one state. Very terrible.
