Not Too True Misconceptions About Nigeria by NosaH(m): 2:30pm On Sep 30, 2017
In commemoration with the 57th Independent Day Celebration of Nigeria.I Have taken liberty not to speak ill of my Nationality, I have scrutinously come to understand and realise some certain misconceptions and perceptions people have towards Nigeria.. as long as you are Human, living within the terrain of Nigeria ,there's always these misconceptions and wrong perceptions about Nigeria flying here and there, which of course, little percentage could be realistic, why the larger part are often not, most people do have little or no knowledge about certain situation, immediately they get 2 to 3 views from people, then they move on to paint the whole scenario with a "sorry face look"Forgetting that Human thought, Mind and utterances are very much related with current Happening, what they imagine and visualise...in article,I will try has much as possible to lift away some of the misconceptions and too inappropriate thinking people have towards Nigeria..
•Not all politician/ those in Government misappropriate funds
From all odds, this is number one misconception that spring up on people mind, whenever election period is near,Most people THINK Those in office misappropriate funds to themselves rather than doing the Needful, it could be true to very large extent, but transparent government holders are very much in Nigeria..
• Not all Nigerians go abroad for greener pasture..
Whenever you ask a fellow "where are off to" then he/she response "UK, USA, Germany, Italy etc"what comes to respondent mind is that "this guy/bae won't come back again" mother land by sound sultan has justify this thinking, but the truth is that, things have changed, the misconception is getting a wane, most people travel abroad for schooling, shopping and vacation etc..
•Not all those in uniform are corrupt..
Seeing any law enforcement agencies staff carrying out their duty, what immediately comes to most people mind, just like a whatsapp notification message is "this uniform people are looking for weekend Money, then, if it's during festive period, the weekend changes to "Christmas, sallah, New year Money"" This could be true, but there's always a judas /group of judas's in a very disciples.. the truth is that are still people of high integrity in the force, if there isn't, then will won't have gotten better by now..
•Not all opportunities come with influence...
With the current situation in Nigeria [inflation], which we are already getting out of, Most people believe is that "Nothing is this country goes /comes on merit, you have to know someone or someone knows you, before you can secure any opportunity, even to get a food and souvenir in a party" This is not always true, sometimes, your proficiency thus speaks for you, people still get hold of many opportunities with their dexterity, in fact, what you at good at creates connection for you..
•Not all Nigerian are tribalistic when it comes to decision and selection making..
•Nigeria not up to standard
Nigeria is working towards attaining greater Achievement, "not up to standard" is fixing itself to the appropriate comparism, in terms of breeding "intellectual personality ", Nigeria is getting her standard in the appropriate comparism.... innovation and creativity isn't exempted, it might be at slow pace, but we are getting along..
