A document made available to our editors has shown that the Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, was duly invited for the OYO State government Independence Day celebrations, just like other royal fathers who were in attendance on the day, including the Alaafin of Oyo.

Media Spokesperson of the Olubadan palace, Mr Adeola Oloko, had reportedly claimed that no invitation was received from the state government, while deliberately citing it as a deed of disrespect and disregard to the Palace.

Contrarily, this evidence shows that an invite was indeed addressed to the Palace, and was in fact signed for receipt by one of Olubadan's media assistants, Yanju Adegboyega.
