Why I Think TSTV Promises Is Dead On Arrival by mecussey(m): 12:45pm On Oct 02, 2017
Why I think TSTV Heavenly promises are dead on arrival...

1) Offers are too good to be true...

Hardware ...

A DVB-S/S2 receiver with tuner, processor, ram, power supply unit, video filters/hdmi port, Rj45 port, PVR capability, wifi hotspot etc...all for 5k This means cost of production is about 10usd. Ask any company in China, this is not possible unless its been subsidized by govt or something else.

Channel lists...

Beinsports is owned by a company in the middle list and only have the right to broadcast EPL in the middle east and north africa by satellite. If they had wanted to cover Africa, its just a transfer of funds and bam...the beam is everywhere in Africa. Tstv promising to beam beinsports MENA to Africans is either piracy or fraud. The only legal means to bring beinsports to Africa is by IP but they already denied that 20gb is just VAS...i dey watch in 7D. They might succeed in beaming the beinsports MENA to Africa but will shut it down within few months.

Suddenly they got to offer data very cheap...what has Etisalat, MTN and Glo been doing. Does it mean they never knew how to get and offer data at a very cheap rate..?? Ok let us assume they know what others dont know...now, how to they want to offer these data to her customers.. There are only three ways to share data...either by satellite, terrestrial or Cable alright

TSTV is a satellite provider, it means they plan to share this data by satellite, it then means the customer satellite dish must carry a BUC and LNB all for 5k with STB...? This is more than MMM. The other way to share the data is by terrestrial ...either by gprs or wifi..this then means there will be coverage problem and NBC must know where and how the broadcast station are...and we all know what NBC can do to frustrate a growing business in Nigeria...i rule that one out.

They are confusing Nigerians with HBB technology...Hybrid box is just multiple source input box...dvb-s/s2/t/t2/c and IP there is nothing new here. If there was something new...this technology could have been everywhere in the world and no one will care to pay for cable or satellite TV. I have plenty things to say here but let me stop here, will come back to add more...

Conclusion,

I am not trying to be pessimsitic about TSTV but everything look vague to me. Why choose a brand name close to DSTV and a color code close to multichoice

Why make all these noise and lunch without any goods to sell?? I am certain TSTV is not prepared for this business and challenges that comes with it. Would it not had been better TSTV starts broadcast in June, stabilize and then lunch in October There is need to test your product properly before selling, even deadly nuclear weapons are been tested. well, I still keep my fingers crossed. Since Edo people can fly without airbus, and bakassi boys can resist live bullets without bullet proof, TSTV can still work without means.

The good news is here is 5k to me looks like spare money to an average Nigerian so, nothing to worry about. However, 5k multiplied by 100 million homes... In Akpan's voice...'guy this is money oo'

The OP is absolutely right . Somethings are wrong with the TSTV claims . It appears to me like a whole lot of noise.

The legal tussle has already begun .

Even the latest Strong decoders are around 10-12k per unit after importation and plenty markups from like 5 different middle men

It's so easy to fleece Nigerians. You people think everything must be expensive

Have you bothered to confirm if this letter emanates from Beinsport?

No where did beinsport allege infringement or right theft. Check their site and even twitter. They never said anything. A fake letter was dropped by unknown people at TSTV's office

If you can read well, this letter is fake. See the opening paragraph.

What position is the writer holding with bein?

A lot of things point to the fact that the TSTV people are not being entirely forthright .

Do you know that Bein Sports was not unveiled together with the other channels they say they will offer on the Launch day?

They said they would distribute 5,000 decoders on that day, they didnt.

No one knows now when they will start selling decoders.

They are the ones fueling rumours with this attitude .

They never said any of such. The owner is well known to us, as I valued that plaza in abuja.

Nigerians were too over joyous and decided to make claims that never emanated from TSTV.

They were to launch on Oct, 1st and never promised that you'll buy all decoders that day.

Most of what you guys are saying didn't emanate from TSTV.

I repeat, that letter is not from BeIN sport, but from mischievous Nigerians

They have MBCs and Fox sport, why didn't fox sport cry infringement?

Kinda shocked by your reactions thus far.

I dont see you addressing the part of Bein sports being advertised but

not a word was said about them on launch day. Explain that, I will be waiting. wink

The thread creator does have valid points. There are many unanswered questions with regards to TSTV.

Nigeria has a satellite called NigComSat 1R

Tstv is no where to be found.

Oh yeah, they also promised VOD and latest movies bla blah, How else will they get access to all that??

Like i said, many unanswered questions.

The simplest defense of tstv, actual service, is unavailable.

The kindest thing I can say is that they were not ready but went for a symbolic October 1 launch.

Does tstv exist in Africa, or is that just brand noise?

It's probably some govt bigwigs who think there is easy money in cable TV, but who as always lack the competence to properly implement.

Exactly

have you seen this thread https://www.nairaland.com/4095926/experience-using-tstv-users-comments/1

The amount of ignorance displayed on that thread, makes you understand why MMM succeeded in duping Nigerians of their hard earn cash.

The highlighted shows you have little understand of cable/satellite TV.

TSTV is actually somewhere to be found. They're broadcasting on the satellite ABS 3 3° West on KU band.

Was a word said about CNN, MBC, Foxsport and Eurosport on the launch day?

Sureeeee.

Still no where to be found on that bird. Try something else.

You're displaying ignorance. But as my friend from my Tokyo days, I'll indulge you.

TSTV is live and direct on ABS 3.

Lyngsat is never the authority is satellite package reportage. Many packages are available on Satellites that lyngsat doesn't even record. Have you heard of flysat.com? They're by far better than lyngsat.

Get a 90cm dish and track ABS 3, if you don't find TSTV channels, then I'm wrong, but if you find, come back to apologize

Good. This is exactly what you should have done in your first post, instead of the insults.

Also, can you not go on a post without throwing in words or is that in a nature?

Now that we have established that they are live and since I am the ignorant one here, answer me this

Does tstv hv the rights to broadcast the advertised stations?? How do they intend to stream movies that are in the cinemas? What kind of tech will they be using?? Whats the use of the data??

These questions are rhetoric, cos I know you're intelligent from my rapport with you

TSTV said data is complimentary. Should we prosecute them for offering complimentary data? Data can be for anything, including streaming burial services on YouTube to watching porn (Whatever rocks the beneficiary)

Whether or not they have rights, you and I do not work with or for them to decipher. We can only speculate or make assumptions, which could either be a mirage or logically probable

What if they would have an agreement with the movie producers or the cinema operators as regard movie streaming?

Like I said, these questions are rhetoric and answered same manner

Mind you, I did not insult, cos there's no need for such in a civil discourse

Lol. So much anger and energy investment in discrediting these guys.

They are broadcasting the Arabic BeIN sports stations.

Thats the only comma there.

And they will show premier league in Arabic language fine fine.

You people should rest. Nobody has banned DStv ,continue using them and let the mugu people do what they like with their money.

Check somewhere in the compound you will either see a 3m dish or cable decoder. The beinsports you are seeing there is at TStv office and they are receiving it from 7.3w middle east. They are not broadcasting anything yet on ABS. Whoever thinks these guys can beam bein 1 to 10 to west africa by satellite is a joker, the best they can do is bein MAX 1 to 10 (espana - no epl)

Last week Friday, I called three different dealers listed on their website. Their launch day was October 1.no one had any in stock, and they were not expected for at least a week.

A lot of people said wait for them to launch. End of a week and nothing.

Not promising.

I have worked as a project manager, and you do not launch until everything is in place. Licences, equipment, sales infrastructure, etc is in place. These guys were more obsessed with a meaningless political statement than actually rolling out their service.

You are a techie. How many of their claims are economically feasible?

Theres some stuff about 500gb storage. 500gb in a 5k box?

10m...are you satisfied..? I dont do dstv and not even a fan but I understand the TV industry. When sth is not adding up, must be critisized. I see two pics you uploaded, where is the bein 3HD?? Like I stated, it is not legally right to beam beinsports MENA 1HD to 10HD to west Africa. If Tstv successfully do that, it will be taken down within one month. If there was any agreement what so ever, beinsports official web site will carry the advert. This is common sense na......I would like Tstv to provide us with enough data to watch beinsports, now thats obtainable.
