TEXT:"MY brethren, have not the faith our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons."-James 2:1

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, Hebrews 11:1. Faith cannot be defined without hope. Faith and hope go hand in hand. If you have faith, you also have hope. However, there are two sides to faith: the Godkind of faith, Mark 11:22; and the Mankind of faith.

In the Mankind of faith, it is the faith that emphasizes on wealth and material possessions, Matthew 19:22. Most of the teachings, on faith in our days, are centered on this kind of faith: the more possessions you have, the greater your faith. This has made a lot of people to involve themselves in shady deals in order to make wealth, and then to be seen as people that knows how to receive things from God. Thereby, seeing themselves as people of faith.

Moreover, in the Godkind of faith, this is the believe in God, and doing the things God commands you to do, in his word, and doing them the way he wants you to do them. This kind of faith emphasizes obedience to God. This is the faith that pleases God, Hebrews 11:6. This is the faith, the faithful ones practiced in Hebrews 11:4-40. This is also called the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was obedient unto the death of the cross.

Furthermore, through this Godkind of faith, the elders obtained a good report. We also understand that the worlds were structured by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Through this kind of faith, Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain. Enoch did not die, but was changed into another form and went to meet the Lord. Noah prepared an ark, according to God's specifications, to the saving of his family.

In addition, when Abraham was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, he obeyed; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. Also, Sarah received strength to conceive a child, and was delivered of a man child, even when she was past the age of child bearing.

Others that practiced this Godkind of faith include: Isaac; Jacob; Moses; Joshua; Rehab; Gideon; Barak; Samson; Jephthah; David; Samuel; and the prophets. They subdued kingdoms, caused changes through righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, they were valiant in their fight of faith, etc.

Many others that were not named, were tortured, they had trial of cruel mocking and scourging, they were bound and imprisoned, they were stoned, they were sawn apart and into pieces, they were brutally murdered with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins; being destitute, afflicted, and tormented. They cared less about the world, they wandered in deserts, mountains, dens, and caves. These ones pleased God, and received a good report through the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Godkind of faith.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
