The Global Prolife Alliance (GPA) Chairman Academician Prof. Dr Philip Njemanze MD, in a news briefing on Wednesday , said that the planned release of GMO beans (Bt Cowpea) could result in unprecedented health damage for millions of Nigerian lives. Millions of Nigerians eat beans and the foreign biotechnology companies have long wanted to gain access to the production of this local staple food.
