Today , 5th October, marks the annual celebration of teachers in the world. Every student either old or new appreciates their teachers for the knowledge impacted and the moral lessons. The alumni association of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED),Lagos, who are trained teachers of the renown teachers institution has joined the world to celebrate themselves and colleagues across the world.

The National President of the association, Prince Shina Akintolure, said in a statement by the National Public Relations Officer, Eniola Opeyemi, that the teachers across the world has made a lot sacrifices to impact knowledge on mankind, thus, changing the world positively and teaching the moral values.

Akintolure encourage the teachers to improve on their teaching skills to meet with the present challenges, adding that the reward of teachers are closer than imagined.

"I join the entire students in the world to celebrate our teachers whose sacrifice has made us better personalities to affect our society, the teachers that taught us and some still teaching us made us believe that the best profession of earth is to be a teacher, we are in the profession already, we enjoy it and it's obligatory to celebrate ourselves and other teachers across the world"

"On this day, we call for better teachers welfarism, improved salary and upgrade of teaching apparatus to meet with the world standard"

"I encourage everyone in the business of teaching children that our rewards are closer than imagined, as in the process of building human, we are also building the nation".

Also, the National PRO, Eniola Opeyemi, urged the federal government, all states and local governments across the country to emulate the Lagos state government in prompt payment of teachers salaries and pensions in the spirit of nations building and celebration of the world teachers day"
