Kano State Hisbah Board on Thursday arrested eight young girls allegedly involved in prostitution, against the Sharia law in the state. The board’s Assistant Commander-General, Operations, Malam Nasiru, said the suspects were apprehended at Rijiyar Zaki bus-stop during a special patrol. “Our men went there around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening and arrested eight suspects at the Bus stop” “All the suspects are females of between the age of 22 and 23.” Nasiru said, the arrest followed a tip-off, adding that the suspects will be taken to court after proper investigation. |

Is prostitution a crime in Nigeria and if yes,is hisbah(the sharia Islamic police) empowered by Nigerian constitution to carry out such arrest? |

Is sharia law different from constitution of one federal republic of Nigeria. Restructuring starts with shaira. This nonsense must stop. Or each zone should form there own police officers court officials and related agencies |
