Do you have prospects that are skeptical about your product or service? Don’t they trust you can actually deliver on your promise? Or maybe they don’t even know much about your product or service and are skeptical about the value it will bring them.

How do you persuade prospects like that?

A simple and easy trick is the answer – show your expertise, successes or achievements.

How does this work? People aren’t convinced by a message, they are convinced by the messenger.

And as we mentioned in this post, once people get information from an expert, they don’t argue with that information but accept it wholeheartedly.

So, how do you show your expertise? This is tricky because you don’t want to come off as a self-touting, bragging arrogant person. Here are a few things you can do.

1.Get someone to tot your own horn:

Been to a conference or seminar lately? You would notice that it is always the moderator that reads out a speakers’ credentials and accomplishments. That’s for good reason. Supposing the speaker himself started reading his credentials, you won’t see him as likable, but arrogant, and you won’t engage with his speech. So, I know what you’re thinking, how can you apply this since you’re not a speaker? In your proposals, include your successes, trumps and expertise up front, before your proposal itself, and not at the bottom.

2.Play up your potential:

Everyone is looking for the next big thing, not the current big thing. So, show your prospects how you, your business or your offering has the potential to become the next big thing. This worked well for a comedian on Facebook, who gathered huge interests from users when users saw series of quotes that said he could be the next big thing.
