In the face of persistent increase in price of basic goods and domestic commodities in Nigeria’s Economy, it is incredible for a Corps Member to initiate the rehabilitation of a project as fundamental and magnanimous as this. Left-Right. Mrs. Babatunde, Mr. Oguntade, Chief Thomas Owolabi, Mr. Abel O. Julius, and Mr. Peter Nwaje. A gentleman serving his father’s land in capacity of National Youth Service Corps, initiated the rehabilitation of a dysfunctional borehole facility. Corps Member ABEL, Olushola Julius with state code number OS/15B/2464 serving in Odo-Otin Local Government of Osun State initiated, harmonised and mobilised effort of the community towards the successful bringing to life of a dysfunctional borehole facility to ameliorate the suffering of the residents towards access to portable water. Mr. ABEL, in his speech thanked the National Youth Service Corps scheme for creating such avenue to in fact keenly serve humanity according to her motto. He was moved towards the selfless service to humanity having observe the stress and suffering of the community residents, especially children and women towards accessing portable water during dry season. Some rather give in to usage and consumption of unhygienic water that is within their reach and ‘easily accessible’ and dangerous to their health. Mr. ABEL made known his love for public service and disaffection to non-functional and abandoned facility which he likened to economy sabotage. In attendance were the N.Y.S.C Local Government inspector, Mrs. Babatunde O.A and the State Coordinator, Mrs. Regina Illuebey ably represented by Ikirun Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Peter Nwaje. They all applauded the project executed, charged the community members to adopt maintenance culture, and other corps members present to emulate such and write their names in sands of time. Mr. Oguntade, Water and Environmental Sanitation official of Odo-Otin Local Government introduced modality towards maintenance with adoption of a committee. Oba of Okuku, HRM, Samuel Oluronke Oluboye was ably represented by Ojomu of Okuku, Chief Thomas Owolabi.
