CALLING INTO LONG LASTING RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
Text: Hebrew 10 vs 20-23
20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
There is nothing,absolutely nothing so hopeless as a corpse, nothing quite so hopeless as a dead corpse. No doctor, scientists as never breath into dead body. What am trying to explain here is that a soul without Christ is a hopeless.
The soul is dead in trespasses of sin (ie sin places limit on someone RELATIONSHIP with God)
Without Christ he is spiritually dead,while physically healthy.
The most dangerous aspects is that physically you can sing in the choir, teach as Sunday school teacher, read the sermon, preach the gospel, be a pastor, become a deacon or deaconess, be and among top workers in the vine yard of God but spiritually dead.because you have not totally subject to the will of God but have changed physically.
The Bible unveiled to us a deep truth they that are in the flesh can never please God.that is why the lord Jesus says the spirit quickens but the flesh profit nothing.
Note:: God is a nature you can find through Jesus while you find Jesus through salvation
What is salvation? Salvation is the miracle of receiving life through Jesus Christ.when you are saved.
The lord Jesus Christ touches you and gave to you a new life and become a new Creature. no wonder 2nd Corinthians 5 vs 17 says 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Always remember this salvation is not what you do but what Christ does in you,when you receive him (Romans 8 vs 14 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Six peak ways you can enjoy long lasting relationship with God
1).holiness / love for righteousness
2) cultivate the habit of loving God /walking in love
3) work diligently / walking in the spirit
4) thirst and pray for it / living a life praise
5) forsake the world and cleave to God
6)Long for it/ walking in the spirit
And so here are the five ways you can maintain it
1)stay away from all known sins
2)humility
3)poses teachable spirit
4)fast and pray
5)practice holiness
