Sugar is sweet but the consequences when it comes to men”s health cannot be ignored. The sugary substance we like so much is the reason for the many cases of obesity and diabetes worldwide.

On this post we shall focus a bit on the various effects of too much
sugar intake on men”s health.

Obesity
The more sugar that we eat, the more our blood-glucose levels will increase. Which in turn would trigger the release of insulin, which consequently would lead to the storage of too much fat in our system.

Obviously, one of the effects of too much sugar intake on men”s health is that it causes too much fat storage or obesity.

Note
When we binge on too much sugar, it causes our body to remain in “fat accumulation mode” longer than necessary.

Erectile Dysfunction
Another effect of too much sugar intake on men”s heath is erectile dysfunction. Most people are still ignorant of the fact that obesity can lead to other kinds of frightful sicknesses such as diabetes.

And diabetes has been know to cause erectile dysfunction in men. In fact erectile dysfunction is one of the side effects from suffering from diabetes.

High-fat diets and higher cholesterol levels are correlated with ED, which is largely caused by clogs in the small blood vessels.

Prostate Cancer
As men sugar can be considered as one of the underlying factors of
prostate cancer. According to findings sugar is a major source of energy for cancerous cells (findings on whether or not sugar really feeds cancer cell is still inconclusive).

But this not to say you should avoid sugar intake from fruits and other nutritious sources, as our body need it for energy. But even with this natural sources it is best to apply moderation.

Diets high in sugar and refined
carbohydrates can lead to overweight and obesity, which indirectly increases cancer risk over time. Certain cancers—including breast, prostate, colorectal and pancreatic—are associated with obesity.

Heart Diseases
Sugar raises triglyceride levels and lowers high density lipoprotein. two factors that are at the onset of heart diseases.

According to the study published in JAMA: Internal Medicine, those who got 17 to 21 percent of calories from added sugar had a 38 percent higher risk of dying from cardiovascular disease compared to those who consumed 8 percent of their calories from added sugar.

Be it for men”s health or women’s health, too much sugar intake should be avoided.
