I have been pondering on this for a while. There are certain habits we are hooked on today which on the long run poses a negative effect to our life. These habits can be referred to as addictions. The word addiction makes us think of drugs and alcohol but in the modern society we are seeing new kinds of addictions.
My own addictions are;
Webaholism - Hooked to the net
My phone - Creative loafing
Am a compulsive shopper - Hooked on shopping

So, what exactly are we addicted to and what are the reasons behind these addictions? Nairalanders air your view.

Mine are, Internet related addiction - I was a HEAVY internet gamer, 8 hours per evening, browsing, compulsive downloader - at least 3gb per day - I have about 8 external hard drives filled with movies, tv shows and I plan to buy more because I JUST CAN'T STOP, must be on the net at least 5 hours a day, if I'm in a party I can't survive without having a computer with internet access around, which means my social is almost none existent and makes me lazy tongue .

HEAVY gamer, I'm always playing one game or the other, sometimes i buy or download a game and finish it in the next 6 hours and ever since I modded my ps2 I've had more to play.
