For motorist around Admiralty bridge, linking Ikoyi and Lekki communities, reasons behind a man identified as Oluseyi Adekunle, to have jumped into Lagos lagoon on Friday is still a misery to them, just as emergency agencies are currently making frantic efforts to rescue him or possibly recover his body.

It was gathered that Adekunle allegedly committed the suicide at about 10 am pulling off his clothes and shoe to ensure no one prevent him from fulfilling his plans which was captured through the Closed Circuit Television (TV).

Confirming ongoing search and rescue operation in the lagoon, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and he Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), have disclosed that efforts had been intensified to ensure that the body is recovered after the alleged suicide.



The General Manager, LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu, who declined revealing identity of the man, hinted that the agency received the distress call that spurred them into action from Lekki Concession Company (LCC) officials.

Tiamiyu stated that aside the man, who sighted him from afar, no one could narrate how he committed the suicide, saying, we could only catch the glimpse of the act through CCTV.

He noted that it was the footage that further gave them hint and spurred them to commence the search and rescue operation in the lagoon

said the footage was captured through the camera when he suddenly pulled off his clothes and shoe, while noticing there was no one around him and jumped into the lagoon.
