TEXT:"UNTO the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;"-Revelation 2:1

An angel is a ministering spirit serving God, and is sent by God to deliver a message or perform a task. They are often shown dressed in white, with wings. However, the angel of the church is a human spirit, with a visible body(a human being), sent by God to deliver messages to the church. The angels of the churches are the leaders of their various churches.

For instance, the angel of the church in Ephesus is a human being, who is the leader of the church in Ephesus, and also delivers messages to the Ephesian church. Also the angel of the church in Smyrna is the leader of the Smyrnaian church, etc.

Furthermore, in today's world, the leaders of the various denominations, and their branches, are angels of their churches: Rev. Chidi Okoroafor is the angel of the Assemblies of God church; Pastor Enoch Adegboye is the angel of the Redeem Christian church of God; Bishop David Oyedepo is the angel of the Faith Tabernacle aka Living Faith church; Pastor Chris. Oyakhilome is the angel of the Believers' Love World aka Christ Embassy church; Rev. Dr. Sam. Jackson Obi is the angel of the Jesus word Citadel; Pastor F. William Kumuyi is the angel of the Deeper Christian Life church; etc.

In Revelation 2:1-7, Jesus commended the church in Ephesus for their works, labour, patience, etc. Nevertheless, he had something against them, because they have left their first love. Jesus advised them to remember where they have fallen and repent, or else he will come and remove them from their place.

In like manner, Jesus Christ is addressing the churches in the world today, especially the Nigerian churches. He commends them for their works, labour, patience, etc. However, he has something against each and every one of them. Let each church remember where it has fallen, and repent, or else Jesus will come and remove such church from the face of the earth.

In addition, the messages in the book of Revelation chapters 2 and 3, were first to the seven churches in Asia, and by implication, to the churches in the world today. A word is enough for the wise!

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
