A Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere yesterday fixed Friday October 27 for the trial of suspected kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike alias Evans, for alleged attempt to kidnap the Chairman of The Young Shall Grow Motors, Vincent Obianodo.

The trial judge, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, fixed the date following an application by Evans’ counsel, Olukoya Ogungbeje seeking to quash the two separate charges filed against him by the Lagos State Government.

Evans was brought to court alongside other defendants.

Meanwhile, the Federal High Court in Lagos also yesterday entered judgment against the Nigeria Police Force in the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by one Mr. Okwuchukwu Obiechina said to be the brother-in-law of Evans.

Justice Mohammed Idris, in a judgment yesterday, declared Obiechina’s arrest and detention unconstitutional, holding that the remand order which the police claimed to have obtained from a magistrates’ court was invalid.
