In Nigeria, you get used to either incessant complaints of dissatisfaction or bearing the cost of poor or no service at all by many service organization. From the era of NEPA through PHCN to the unbundled entities: EEDC, EKEDC, AEDC, etc., we have never fared better. It's been exorbitant charges for little or no power supply, month in, month out.
Here in Lafia, Nasarawa State (could be similar or the same in other parts of the country), the 'theifery' of AEDC has, rather than abate, continues to soar with unpredictable dimensions.
Imagine that in my area (Dadin Kowa) our electricity bill for the current month comes in the mid of the month, and we are expected to pay before month-end. For example, we've already been billed for the month of October, 2017.
The question I keep asking is: am I supposed to pay for electricity CONSUMED or for the one TO BE CONSUMED in the month. But each time I raise this with their 'tax collectors' they refer me to their office where virtually NOTHING happens. TOO BAD
