1. Lagos State

Lagos will always come out first in many good things in Nigeria , don’t forget that when we looked at the most populated states in Nigeria, Lagos state took the first position . On this article , Lagos state is coming out first as well, this should tell you a lot . Well, Lagos state is the richest in Nigeria and it is known for many businesses and companies . It is right to call Lagos the “America of our nation” because it is the central city of Nigeria in terms of businesses and industrialization . Lagos is a rapidly growing city with a lot of population and it is an ideal for businesses . Lagos state has a GDP of $33.67 billion.

2. Rivers state

Rivers State is known for its productivity and its fast growing economy which has placed it among the richest states in Nigeria. It was recently revealed by Business Day newspaper, that Rivers state has the fastest growing economy. This is the home for many Oil based industries and other foreign owned businesses. Rivers state GDP stands at $21.07 billion.

3. Delta State

Delta state has greatly contributed to the growth of Nigeria due to its rich oil production, the state has attracted million of investors into the country. It is the third richest State in the country with a GDP of $16.75 billion, Delta state has a great growth potentials in the future.

4. Oyo State

The fourth richest state in Nigeria is Oyo State which has it capital as Ibadan. Oyo state is the second highest emerging middle class with a gross state product greater than $1.91 trillion. It had a 14% growth rate in GDP between 2008 and 2012 and one of the wealthiest state in the South West region. Its has a GDP of $16.12 billion .

5. Imo State

Imo State is an ideal state for those purposes who are searching for the best state to establish a business. This state is said to be the business hub to companies and industries especially in the oil and Gas sector. Imo state is very welcoming, accommodating and hospitable for businesses. There are several foreign investors in Imo and it has contributed immensely to the rapid growth of Nigeria. Above all, Imo state is blessed with a lot of natural resources .

Nigeria is among the richest country in Africa. Nigeria is a rich country, but the riches are not evenly spread across the entire states in the country, some states are richer than others. While some of this states are richer than is because natural resources are found in some of them. Tax and commercial activities also contribute a great.
