Tottenham look happy to resume their possession play from the first half in a bid to prevent West Ham maintaining the high tempo and purpose they started the half with. West Ham have a lot to do if they are to get back into this game.
49' West Ham have come out into this second half with a lot more purpose. A dangerous cross bounces across the face of the six-yard box and it is cleared away for a corner, with Sam Byram rushing towards the back post to meet it. The corner is dealt with by Tottenham with relative comfort.

A relatively uneventful first half in what has been a very tame affair between the two sides. Tottenham produced the only moments of any real quality in the game, starting with the counter-attack that allowed Sissoko to slot Tottenham into the lead. A brilliant cross towards the back post should have doubled that lead but Adrian showed brilliant reactions to parry out Alli's header. There was nothing the Spaniard could do for Alli's goal however as it took a wicked deflection to flight into the corner of the goal. A fully deserved lead from Tottenham though and West Ham have a mountain to climb if they are to rescue this tie.
