I took up a research to know why most Nigerians rejoice when a misfortune befall a rich or popular person. The Davido scandal was an eye opener for me. What ever you cannot get in life,shun it or criticise it.
Spectators depression arises when you see other people achieving what you cant do. You feel worthless and hurl insults to a successful person. That is why a society will never progress if insult is the reward for showing individuality.

No time

Most of us spend time following the life of celebrity and have their biography at the tip of your tongue. You keep looking at pictures of friends to see if they are overtaking you. You become jealous when somebody is succeeding in something. Social network as a whole is not helping matters. Reassess why you use facebook and Nairaland. Do you want to see others living their dreams or remain a Spectator. When will people be interested in your own story
